ynopsis: Cambodia remains committed to actively engaging with regional partners to promote sustainable agricultural development and build resilient agri-food systems for the future, says Asikin.
Cambodia aims to transition from being a supplier of raw agricultural materials to becoming a hub for high-value processed products by attracting additional investment, said a senior official of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) in Brunei Darussalam on Wednesday.
Yoeu Asikin, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), made these remarks while participating in a panel discussion at the Asia-Pacific Food Forum (APFF), held alongside the regional conference, focusing on accelerating agrifood investment pathways through the Hand-in-Hand Initiative, according to a news statement from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Speaking on ‘Investment Needs and Opportunities in Cambodia’s Rice Industry’, Asikin highlighted Cambodia’s ambition to move from a supplier of raw agricultural materials to a hub for high-value processed products by attracting greater investment in agro-processing, climate-resilient production, and standards-based value chains.
